		<description>Well, I'm going to be optimistic and say that marketers won't kill social media, but they're certainly bludgeon it repeatedly, like a pinata, in the hopes that money might start falling out. I'm sure it will survive, but I bet we're also in for some rough patches.</description>

But yeah...it was triggered by someone that morning commenting about not wanting to go to a networking event because they didn't think they'd get any immediate business out of it.

I kept thinking...really? This is the only reason to meet people? For business? And it got me to thinking about my grandfather. 

Thanks for picking up the story. I really worry that marketers are going to kill social media and I think if they do, everyone loses.</description>
